I think the Food Network's Alton Brown is pretty much a genius. As a home cook with no formal culinary training, I try to watch every episode of Good Eats that I can in order to learn the simple techniques and equipment that Alton uses to elevate every day comfort foods.
Just in time for your Super Bowl party this weekend, we've got several recipes that are sure to be a big hit. In our menu line-up, we have:
Homerun Chicken Wings
Outta the Park Meatballs
Outta the Park Shrimp
I've been dreaming of a white Christmas since I was a kid in the 70s, and at long last my wish came true. North Carolina had it's 1st white Christmas in more than 60 years in 2010, and our family celebrated the snow in Outta the Park fashion. We didn't fire up the snow covered grill, but we did roll up a giant Outta the Park snowman!
Marilyn's Pizza is a locally owned, independent gourmet pizzeria located in the Salt Box Village shopping center on Kildaire Farm Rd in Cary. They bake their delicious pizzas and calzones in a stone oven and have plenty of fresh toppings to choose from.
This weekend's sampling schedule now final. Hingham Fruit Center this morning (11-2), and then Bo-Tes from 4-7PM. Ring Bros in Dennis on Saturday, from 11-4PM. And Sunday at The Pinehills Market in Plymouth (before the Pats!), from 10-1PM. Hope to see some old friends, and look forward to making many new ones!
Come see us at the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh! We'll be showcasing our homerun flavor in the Got to Be NC tent, sponsored by the Department of Agriculture. Taste a bunch of great products made right here in NC, and kick up your next take tailgate by taking home a bottle of Outta the Park BBQ Sauce!
I just love the song "Oh Atlanta" by Bad Company, and it certainly comes to mind this weekend as Scott is in Atlanta launching our sauce at 5 Whole Foods Market stores in Georgia. We are thrilled to now be sharing our sauce with Whole Foods shoppers in SC, TN, and GA in addition to NC!
Scott and I had a blast at the 2010 NC Hot Sauce Contest this past weekend! What a great event put on by the town of Oxford, Julia Stovall of Stovall's Gifts and the folks who grow the peppers that go in our sauce - Bailey Farms of Oxford.
